Date Sugar

dates on a plateDates are very high in sugar and they can easily be converted into a granulated form of sugar.

Ingredients:

2 cups of dates, sliced thinly

Directions:

  • Arrange sliced dates on a baking sheet
  • Bake at 450° for 10 to 15 minutes, or until very dry and hard as rocks
  • Allow to cool
  • Using small patches, grind or process in a food processor until ground fine, like sugar

Store in an air tight container.

Sprinkle in/on beverages, hot cereals, fruit, toast with butter, ice cream etc.
