Throughout Scripture we find various stories about brides, weddings, taking of wives and most of them provide shadows of the qualities that should be a part of the Bride of Messiah. Pomegranates are mentioned in Song of Solomon in conjunction with the Shulamite and this book presents shadows of the Bride and the Messiah Bridegroom. We know Hadassah (Esther) went through a year of beauty treatments before she was to meet the King and her Bridegroom. So here is a way to use pomegranates to encourage healthy skin and give you a beautiful glow.
We too, will one day meet the King of Kings the one who will wed the Bride. We should be preparing for that meeting too, both spiritually and physically. Each of the essential oils mentioned in the scriptures of Song of Solomon have beneficial skin and health properties but each one also has spiritual attributes that we should be cultivating in our lives. Lets look at some of the spiritual qualities can we find symbolized and correlated between the Bride and the pomegranate.
Temples are part of the face and forehead – The place on the face closest to the mind. As we prepare ourselves to be the Bride of Yahshua, we must keep our mind stayed on Him (Yahshua the Word.) We must always keep His Word before us; our thoughts should be His thoughts.
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Her temples are compared to fruit, we are encouraged to grow and develop spiritual fruits.
Gal 5:22 – 26 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”
Because her temples (her fruit) are veiled by her locks (hair) it symbolizes that she exhibits modesty and humility. Not conceit, a prideful attitude nor bragging and showing off her spiritual fruit. The Bride is satisfied to continue to develop in her relationship with the Bridegroom and to have fruits abundant in her life that she can present to Him as gifts of love.
Throughout the year I will be adding new articles that correspond to the spiritual and physical preparation of the Bride of Messiah, watch for them.
